How we research, compare, and publish
Solution Medical Supply is a reference desk, not a storefront. Every guide is original work, every comparison is vendor-neutral, and nothing on this site is paid placement. Here is exactly how we hold that line.
Editorial Standards & Independence
No paid placement. No vendor steering. No exceptions.
The fastest way to lose a procurement manager's trust is to rank a power wheelchair, an oxygen concentrator, or an alginate dressing higher because a manufacturer paid for it. We don't. No brand, distributor, or GPO can buy a recommendation, a higher position in a comparison table, or a softer review of a known weakness.
When we name a model class or a dressing category as the better fit for a given clinical or sourcing scenario, that conclusion is driven by the specification, the documented lead time, and the use case in front of the reader — not by any commercial relationship. We carry no advertising that influences editorial judgment, and we accept no fee to feature a product. If that ever changes, it will be disclosed in plain language at the top of the affected page before you read a word of the guidance.

Original research, written by people who read the spec sheet
Our guides start from primary material: manufacturer specification sheets, IFUs, published clinical and wound-care literature, supply-chain and GPO documentation, and the practical realities of par levels and lead times. We synthesize that into decision-oriented writing — which model, which dressing class, which inventory threshold — rather than rephrasing another site's blog post.
We do not fabricate. There are no invented providers, no fictional clinics, no made-up addresses, no fake reviews, no phantom certifications, and no prices pulled from thin air. If we cannot verify a figure, we either source it or we leave it out and say so. Comfort-and-dignity guidance on patient-facing topics — incontinence, mobility, respiratory care — is written with the same restraint: honest about trade-offs, never sensationalized.
How a guide gets made
Every page across our five pillars — mobility, respiratory, wound care, incontinence, and clinical furniture — and the procurement track moves through the same pipeline before it publishes.
1. Frame the real decision
We start with the choice the reader actually faces — which lift for a bariatric transfer, which dressing class for a moderately exuding wound, what par level for a four-chair urgent care — and build the guide around answering it.
2. Pull primary sources
Specs, IFUs, clinical literature, and supply-chain documentation come first. Secondary commentary is used only to corroborate, never as the sole basis for a claim.
3. Compare on the merits
Side-by-side comparisons weigh specification, durability, serviceability, and documented lead time. No brand gets a thumb on the scale. Known weaknesses are stated, not buried.
4. Strip out anything unverifiable
Prices, certifications, and provider details that can't be confirmed are removed or flagged as illustrative. We would rather publish a smaller, true guide than a fuller, padded one.
5. Review and date it
A second read checks the guidance against the brief, the tone, and these standards. Equipment and consumables change; when a guide is materially updated, the change is noted.
Frequently asked questions
Is this guidance a substitute for clinical or reimbursement advice?
No. Everything here is educational. It informs equipment selection, sourcing, and inventory decisions — it does not replace the judgment of a licensed clinician, a wound-care specialist, a respiratory therapist, or a qualified billing and reimbursement advisor. Treatment decisions and coverage determinations belong with the appropriate professional for the specific patient and payer.
Do manufacturers or distributors pay to be featured?
No. There is no paid placement, no sponsored ranking, and no fee that buys a recommendation. Position in any comparison is determined by specification and fit for the use case alone.
Do you ever invent providers, prices, or reviews to fill a page?
Never. We do not fabricate providers, addresses, certifications, reviews, or prices. Unverifiable figures are sourced, marked as illustrative, or omitted. Authority is built on accuracy, not volume.
Are you a seller or a buyer's reference?
A buyer's reference desk. In this phase Solution Medical Supply is purely an educational authority on durable medical equipment and consumables. We do not operate a storefront and we do not funnel readers to any external commercial destination.
Found something wrong? What happens then?
Tell us. If a spec, a lead-time note, or a comparison is out of date or inaccurate, send the correction and the source. Verified corrections are made promptly and the update is noted on the page.
Hold us to this
If a guide reads like a sales pitch, cites a figure you can't trace, or names a provider you can't find, that's a defect — tell us and we'll fix it. Independence only matters if it's enforced.
